Indigo Workshop / Lake Minnetonka

  • INDIGO & SNOW MInnestrista, MN (map)

Come dip into the magical world of indigo and shibori and a create a one-of-a-kind linen piece of home decor that can be used as a wall hanging or stunning table runner.

In this workshop you will learn how to make a natural indigo vat, dye with indigo, and maintain a natural vat.

Each participant will have the opportunity to dye their own 5’ linen wall hanging, 5x with indigo, exploring the beautiful range of shades this plant shares with us.

In this workshop you will also learn a handful of traditional and contemporary shibori techniques. Shibori is the ancient Japanese form of resist dyeing that creates beautiful designs and patterns.

Your workshop registration includes:

  • PFD, 5’ linen fabric for wall hanging/or table runner

  • The opportunity to bring one additional piece to dye with indigo. This can be a piece you’ve previously dyed with indigo and you would like to deepen the color; this can be a piece made from natural fibers that is stained and you wish to over-dye, giving it a second life; or you are invited to bring up to 2 yards of additional fabric to dye.

  • Instructional hand-outs with an organic indigo recipe, best practices, care instructions, and resources.

This workshop will be taught outside in the gorgeous garden of Charlie Wagner on Lake Minnetonka.

We hope you can join us for this hands-on experience!

This workshop is co-hosted by Charlie Wagner.
